Using Your BIOS Setup Utility

The computer BIOS contains information about your system characteristics and settings. Your BIOS was configured by Gateway for optimal performance before your computer was shipped to you. You should not have to change your BIOS settings. However, if you want to change your boot drive or you add a hardware component that your system cannot recognize, you will need to change BIOS settings.
This chapter provides information about opening the BIOS Setup utility and an overview of the settings you can change in the BIOS Setup utility.
