The Text Mode Phase
The second major phase of the Windows 2000 Server installation process occurs after the first reboot. The system loads the Windows 2000 boot files, so it is no longer running DOS, but the drivers needed to run the GUI are not yet loaded, which is why this is called the Text Mode Phase.
