Peripheral devices such as ZIP drives, JAZ drives, external hard disks, and CD recorders require an interface connection to your computer. This interface connection allows your computer to communicate with the devices and transfer data between them. Two of the more popular computer interfaces used for these types of drives are known as SCSI and IDE.
