Consider Disk Speed and Space
Manipulating sounds on your computer can take a large amount of disk space. An average uncompressed WAV file can be 15Mb per minute of audio data at CD quality. In order for your computer to be ready to deal with this large amount of data, it needs as much free space as possible. There are also other hardware considerations you will want to make.
