Using the Maintenance Tools
For the earliest operating systems, like DOS, you had to buy and install separate utility programs to perform certain computer maintenance features such as backing up files. These utilities did a great job, but they certainly increased the time and expense associated with using a computer-not to mention the pain of wishing you had a certain utility available after encountering a problem. This series of tutorials helps you get started with a variety of maintenance utilities that are now built in to Windows.
