In general, content rating keeps your browser from accessing certain Web sites, based on the site's ratings and on your criteria. The descriptions in these tutorials are based on PICS self-rating. (NOTE: Though self-rating is not as effective as content blocking, it is described here because it has formed the basis for other types of content controls.)
