Master pages serve as the shell of a document, containing repeating elements such as headers, footers, and page numbers. You use master pages to ensure consistency and speed the process of designing a longer document such as a magazine, book, or catalog. Master pages work as style sheets for pages in that changes you make to master pages can be updated on document pages.
