Maintaining a Project Calendar
While Gantt Chart view is the default view in Project, it isn't necessarily the view where you'll do most of your work. Because most of use are familiar and comfortable with calendars, viewing the life of your project in terms of a monthly calendar may be the most effective way to schedule and reschedule tasks, create task dependencies, and follow the progress of your project to completion.
