QuickBooks and Sales Tax
If you sell taxable items at retail, you are required to collect sales tax from your customers and remit that tax to your state or local taxing authority. The rules for how much you charge are determined by the locations where you do business, but the rules for how QuickBooks treats sales tax are the same, no matter where you are.
