For both Windows and Macintosh environments, it is required that you have 128 MB of RAM and at least 180 MB of hard disk space. Hard disk space is the available space on your hard drive needed to store the required files for Adobe® Illustrator® 10. It is important that you have more than 180 MB of hard disk space if you intend to use Illustrator for creating complex illustrations. To learn more about updating your computer system's hard drive, please contact your computer manufacturer.

Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based program, and, much like other graphic software programs available today, the performance of Illustrator is increased with additional use of RAM. Adobe requires that you have at least 128 MB of RAM to run Illustrator 10. In many instances, though, it is suggested that you use at least 256 MB of RAM. Increasing your system RAM (also known as memory) will make working with complex Illustrator files even easier.
