Set Folder Options

  Step 1:  Open a Folder Window

Open a Report
If you are following along from the last tutorial, "Create a New Folder," your new folder should be open. If a folder is not open, double-click My Documents. You can select the Folder Options from any folder window; these settings affect all folders.
  Step 2:  Select Tools, Folder Options

Open the Tools menu and select the Folder Options command.
  Step 3:  Select Desktop Options

Open a Report
You can select to use Active Desktop® (see the "Using Active Desktop" tutorial for more information) or classic desktop. For now, leave this option set to classic desktop.
  Step 4:  Select Web View Options

Open a Report
You can select to view Web content (related links) or classic folders. Be sure Enable Web content in folders is selected.
  Step 5:  Default Options

Open a Report
By default, each time you open a folder, it is opened in the same window. If you want each folder to open in a new window, select the option to Open each folder in its own window.
  Step 6:  Select Click or Double-Click

Open a Report
You can either double-click or single-click to open an icon. Select how you want to open icons.
  Step 7:  Confirm Selections

Open a Report
Click the OK button to confirm your selections. (If you change your mind, click Cancel. You can also click Restore Defaults to go back to the default settings.)
