These changes may be updates to programs or patches to repair problems with the program. You can use the following steps to download updates, additions and patches.   Step 2:  Updating Components To update components you will need to have Internet Explorer running and be connected to the Internet. Next, from the application menu, select "Tools" and then "Windows Update".   Step 3:  Checking for Components The Windows Update window will open. Click "Yes" to allow Microsoft to check your system for installed Internet Explorer 5.0 components.   Step 4:  Windows Update Page When Microsoft is done checking your system for installed components, the Windows Update Page will list all available components that are not already installed on your computer.   Step 5:  Downloading Be sure to read each description for the available components, and then check the components that you want to install. When you are ready, click the Download Button. The selected components will download and install automatically.
