 | | Macros are basically a series of keystrokes that you record and have GoldMine carry out. Often times, for instance, you might need to note that you made a call, but left a voice mail message, and then schedule a call for that same contact. Instead of repeating that process over and over you can do it once and then hit one key, or click a button to repeat it whenever necessary. | | | |

 | | To record a macro right-click in the gray area of the toolbar, then select Record. A floating toolbar will pop up with VCR type controls that allow you to either stop, or pause recording. At this point whatever you do in GoldMine will be recorded by the macro. Simply do what you'd like to record and then press the stop button. While recording, you should only use the keyboard. | | | |

 | | When you stop recording, the Define Macro Button window comes up. Here you can define the text that will appear if you hover over the macro button, as well as the description of the macro. The optional hot key will allow you to assign a special key to the macro, for example, if you type Shift-F11 in that field the keyboard the macro will execute. If you want the macro to appear in the toolbar drag an icon into it by using a right-click and drag. | | | |

 | | When you want to execute a macro simply type the hot key you defined in the Define Macro Button window, or click on the icon associated with it. | |
