  Step 1:  Auto-Fill

Open a Report
When entering information into a field with lookups, you can turn on the auto-fill feature and have GoldMine "type-ahead" for you. For example, if you have a contact type field with prospect as one of the lookups and you type "Pr" GoldMine will complete the rest for you. To turn on auto-fill, go to your lookup list, then click setup, then check the auto-fill box.
  Step 2:  Copy Details

Open a Report
Have you ever wanted to do a quick copy and paste of contact details into another application? GoldMine 5.0 supports this! Go to the edit menu, then select copy details. A window pops up asking what information you would like to copy. Your choices are: name and address, name, title, and address, address, primary e-mail and website, phone numbers, key fields, and user defined fields. You can select any number of these by checking their boxes.
  Step 3:  Dup Check

Open a Report
When creating a new record, GoldMine can perform a duplicate check to ensure that the contact is not already in GoldMine. You can now check by four criteria: phone number, e-mail address, contact name, and company name. These options are available in the Add a New Record dialogue box that comes up when you select new from the file menu.
  Step 4:  Auto-Capitalization

Open a Report
You can set GoldMine to automatically capitalize the first letter of each word in a field, saving you from having to even use the shift key! Simply go to lookup for the field (right-click or F2) then click setup then check the box for capitalize first letter.
  Step 5:  Right-Arrow Button

Open a Report
The right-arrow button is another way to access the lookup list of fields. With the traditional way of access the lookup list (F2 or right-click in the field) you could only see a portion of the list if you had a long list. Now, when you use the right-arrow button or hit F4 while in a field with a lookup list you'll see all of the options.
