Password Protect Off Standby

  Step 1:  Open Control Panel

Open a Report
From Windows Start, point to Settings, and then to Control Panel. Double-click the Power Management icon.
  Step 2:  Open Advanced Tab

Open a Report
Power Management Properties will open to the Power Schemes tab. Check it for accuracy, and then select the Advanced tab.
  Step 3:  Set Password

Open a Report
On the Advanced tab, click to check "Prompt for password when computers goes off standby." Click OK.
  Step 4:  Provide Windows Password

Open a Report
The next time you try to bring your PC back from standby mode, you will be prompted to enter your Windows logon password. This hopefully will discourage others from trying to access your computer when you're away from your desk.
