| From Windows Start, point to Settings, and then to Control Panel. Double-click the Power Management icon. |

| Power Management Properties will open to the Power Schemes tab. Check it for accuracy, and then select the Advanced tab. |

| On the Advanced tab, click to check "Prompt for password when computers goes off standby." Click OK. |

| The next time you try to bring your PC back from standby mode, you will be prompted to enter your Windows logon password. This hopefully will discourage others from trying to access your computer when you're away from your desk. |
