 | | You may already have picture files in a variety of formats (such as GIF, JPEG, BMP, or the PhotoDraw MIX format) stored on your computer's hard disk. You can open such images at any time and use PhotoDraw to edit them. Start the PhotoDraw program, click the Open an Existing Picture option button in the Microsoft PhotoDraw dialog box. Click the picture to open in the list, click OK, and skip to Step 5. If you don't see the file you'd like to open, double-click the More Files choice and then skip to Step 3. | | | |

 | | You also can open a picture later, after you've closed the Microsoft PhotoDraw dialog box. Choose File, Open; press Ctrl+O; or click the Open button on the toolbar. The Open dialog box appears. (Hint: If you've opened the picture file recently, check the bottom of the File menu. If you see the file you want to open, click its name to open it.) | | | |

 | | By default, the Open dialog box lists the image files in the default \My Documents\My Pictures folder. To navigate to and display the files in another folder, open the Look In drop-down list. Click the icon for the disk that holds the file to open. The folders on the disk appear in a list in the Open dialog box. Double-click folder icons as needed to navigate to the proper folder. Click the Up One Level button to back up to a higher folder. | | | |

 | | When you see the picture you want to open, click it in the list and then click the Open button to open it. | | | |

 | | Your picture appears in the workspace so that you can begin working with it. | |
