  Step 1:  File and Print Commands

The first group of buttons on the far left of the Standard Toolbar is the File Management Commands. The icon that looks like a folder is the Open file button. The next icon that looks like a floppy disk is the Save button. Click on it often to save your work. The next group to the right is the Print Commands. The icon that looks like a printer is the Print command. Grouped with it is an icon that looks like a check mark with ABC above it. That is the Spell Checker button.
  Step 2:  Cut and Paste Commands

Right of Print Commands are the Cut and Paste Commands. The scissors icon is the Cut button. Right of it is an icon of two sheets of paper. This is the Copy button. The clipboard icon is the Paste button. The paintbrush icon is the Format Paste button. Select an object or text, click Format Paste, and then click another object or text to copy the format to the new object or text.
  Step 3:  Undo and Redo Commands

Just right of the Cut and Paste commands is the Undo and Redo buttons. Undo is an arrow curving up and to the left. Redo is the arrow curving up and to the right. These let you undo your last steps, or redo steps you have undone. Each of these has a small down pointing arrowhead just to the right of each button. Click this to display a list of steps done/ undone. Move your cursor down the list to select more than one action to undo or redo.
  Step 4:  Tool Commands

Open a Report
Tools section contains fourteen tools in six button spaces. Pointer Tool is the black cursor arrow. Click it to change from other tools back to cursor. All buttons right of Pointer Tool have submenus. Click down arrowhead on right of button to display submenu for that button. Tools from right to left: Button 1: Connector, this draws connectors between shapes. Connection Point, click this to add connection points to a shape where you want. Stamp, click on this then a shape to make many copies of the shape.
  Step 5:  More Tool Commands

Button 2: Text allows you to add text to drawing. Text Block, click then drag on drawing to create a box for text on drawing. Button 3: Line draws straight lines. Arc draws line then arc it by clicking in middle of line and dragging. Freehand lets you freehand draw any shape. Pencil interprets what you draw as either a line or arc and adjusts accordingly. Button 4: Rotation moves selected shape around axis. Crop lets you cut a shape down to size.
  Step 6:  Zoom Commands

Open a Report
Zoom Out, magnifying glass with ‘minus' sign, shrinks drawing down in measured steps. Zoom In, magnifying glass with ‘plus' sign, expands drawing in measured steps. Zoom text box allows you to choose magnifications. Click the down arrowhead on the right of the text box to display menu. You can select set percentages or fit entire page or the width of the page in the workspace.
  Step 7:  The Help Command

Help is the rightmost button on the Standard Toolbar. Click it and the Help dialog box appears. Click on a subject under the Contents tab to display help for that subject. Or click on the Index tab and search for a keyword or phase for help on that keyword or phrase. You can even Print relevant passages for easy reference. Just click the Print button in the Help window to print the displayed information.
