  Step 1:  The Beginning

In 1990, several developers from Aldus Corp. decided to form their own software company. They founded Shareware Corp based in Seattle, WA and began to develop and produce various programs. In 1992 they released Visio 1.0. This new form of business software sported unique features that made it a quick success.

The customer response to the program was overwhelming. As with all popular programs, customers found many uses for the software. And as with all popular programs, suggestions and request for additional features were made. Shareware Corp listened and developed even more useful and versatile versions of the program.
