  Step 1:  Loading the Envelopes

Open a Report
The most common problems with envelopes failing to print properly is by loading the envelopes incorrectly. If you have an envelope tray on your printer load the envelopes according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Often these are simply found by icons that represent where the back of the envelope should be, face-up, face down, and where the seal should be positioned. Do not overload the envelopes; most envelope trays allow for up to 50 envelopes, though your tray may allow more or less.
  Step 2:  Using Manual Feed

If you do not have an envelope feeder, use the manual feed. On the manual feed tray you should see an image of how your envelopes should be positioned. This is important, otherwise you'll waste envelopes. Do not overload the manual feed, and if necessary print one envelope at a time.
  Step 3:  Setting the Software

Open a Report
Modern software, such as Word, WordPerfect, and many others, usually include a wizard or template for printing envelopes. When printing envelopes from within these wizards or guides, be certain the software knows how the envelopes are positioned within the printer's tray and the orientation of the envelope.
  Step 4:  Print a Test

Open a Report
If the software and the printer do not seem to be in sync with how the envelopes should be printed, print a letter size piece of paper to compare where the printer thinks the front of the envelope should be positioned. From this test print you can make adjustments to the envelope size within your application to get the printer to print the image in the correct location. Although this may not be ideal for most envelopes, it can be handy if you are working with odd-sized envelopes.
