  Step 1:  Lose Devices

PC gadgets and devices are fun to use and besides they confer a real tecchy aura on us. But they also serve as a drag on boot up because the computer has to spend time configuring itself to include them once it is up and running. If you are really want to get the PC moving after you hit the start button, disconnect the devices you don't use regularly.
  Step 2:  Lose Adornments

Open a Report
If you have burdened Windows' desktop with a fancy background, or wallpaper, get rid of it. It takes time for Windows to set it up. Right-click in an empty area of your desktop. From the pop-up menu choose Properties. Click on the Background tab. In the Wallpaper section choose None.
  Step 3:  Zero In On Fancy Fonts

Open a Report
If the titles in Windows' message boxes and windows have been configured to use fancy fonts, get rid of them. Right-click in an empty area of your desktop. From the pop-up menu choose Properties. Click on the Appearance tab. You will see examples of an Active Window and a Message Box
  Step 4:  Change To A Modest Font

Open a Report
Click on the Active Window title bar. In the Font box, scroll down the list of fonts. Click on System (Western). Click on the Message Box title bar. In the Font box, scroll down the list of fonts. Click on System (Western).
