See your manual to find the "line output" jack (hole) located in the sound card on the back of your computer. You will need to plug in an adaptor: 1/8th inch stereo phone male to two RCA females. Note: This approach (using your home entertainment for computer audio) is often used in lieu of upgrading your computer's audio capabilities, especially if you have a decent household sound system.

Most home entertainment amplifiers have several line inputs (see your amp's manual). The most commonly used for this purpose is the AUX (auxiliary) input on the back of the amp. You will need to plug a chord from your adaptor into these inputs: stereo male/male RCA audio chord (length determined by the distance from your computer to the amplifier).

Set Amplifier input selector to AUX (if that is the input jack you chose to use).

Adjusting the output on your home entertainment amplifier can now control the volume level for your computer audio output, just as you would turn the radio up or down. Your computer's Volume Control Panel can also control the volume, but this approach is less efficient.
