 | | Open My Computer or Windows Explorer. Find the file you want to uncompress or "unzip." | | | |

 | | Double-Click on the icon or file name of the zip archive. This will automatically start WinZip and open the WinZip File Menu window. | | | |

 | | Next, you'll see the contents of the zip file, also known as an archive, in the WinZip File Menu window. The name of the zip archive appears in the Title Bar at the top of the window. Highlight the file(s) you want to remove, or extract, from the archive. You can extract multiple files by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting the files. | | | |

 | | Click on the Extract icon on the Toolbar. In the Extract window, choose a destination for your file(s). You can type the location in the Extract To field, or browse the directory tree. To create a new folder, click the New Folder button, enter the new folder name, and click on OK. When finished, click on Extract. | | | |

 | | Once you've extracted the files, they will appear in the final destination you indicated. In the WinZip window, choose File:Close to close the archive. | |
