| Double-click on the WinZip shortcut on your desktop. If WinZip doesn't start in Classic mode, click the WinZip Classic button on the WinZip Wizard startup screen. |

| First, you need to create a new zip file or archive. Click on the icon in the Toolbar labeled New. |

| Next, the New Archive window will open. Select a name for your archive and where you want to save it. As a test, create an archive named Test and save it to your desktop. Click on OK. |

| In this step, you choose the files you want to zip. In the Add window, you'll see your file directories. Highlight the files you want to add to the zip archive. You can select multiple files by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the file names. When you're finished, click Add. |

| For your final step, you'll return to the WinZip file menu. You'll see the contents of your zip archive, the date modified, the actual archive size, average compression ratio, and the packed file size. Your file is now zipped. Go to the menu bar and click File: Close. Now look on your desktop. You should have a zip file named Test. |
