  Step 1:  Start Network Neighborhood

Open a Report
Open the Network Neighborhood via the desktop icon. You'll see all the computers in your workgroup, which is probably your whole network.
  Step 2:  Select a computer

Open a Report
Double-click on the icon of a computer that has a file share. You'll be taken to a view of all the file shares and printer shares on that unit.
  Step 3:  Query the share

Open a Report
Right-click on one of the file shares, and choose Properties. You'll see a screen with some information about the file share configuration on the computer you selected. Click Cancel to dismiss this window.
  Step 4:  Explore the share

Open a Report
Double-click the file share, and you'll see the top-level folder (directory) with all the subdirectories and files listed. Click View / List to see the more familiar file list view. Just as when you're running Explorer on your local hard drive, you can create, rename, and delete files, run programs, and copy files between file areas, disks, or to another computer.
Step 5:  Go Back to the Neighborhood

Open a Report
Click the drop-down triangle next to the Back button, and choose Network Neighborhood. This takes you back to the top level network view, where you can explore the file shares of other computers if you want.
