| User comments can help you identify various people who work on a document. Begin by highlighting the text on which you wish to comment. |

| Open the Insert menu and select Comment. |

| The text highlights in yellow and Word assigns the comment a number along with the initials of the reviewer (e.g., RM1). The Comment Editing window opens at the bottom part of the screen. |

| Another way to add comments is to access the Reviewing toolbar. Click View/Toolbars/Reviewing and the Reviewing toolbar shown above appears. Click the yellow envelope to enter a new comment at the placement of the cursor. Word highlights the word closest to the placement of the cursor in yellow and the Comments editing window opens. |

| Enter the text of the comment into the Comment Editing window at the bottom of the screen as shown above. |

| When you are finished adding your comment, click Close in the Comment Editing window. |

| You can also leave a recording of your voice as a comment. Click the cassette icon and the Windows Sound Recorder applet opens. Make sure you have a microphone connected to your computer, then click the Record button and record your comment by speaking into the microphone. Click the x to close the Sound Recorder when you are done. |

| You can click the speaker icon to test your recording. |
