| Enter the name of the payer of the gambling winnings, and the address and federal ID number. You may have received a form W-2G reporting this information, in which case you can just copy the information from the W-2G. If you did not receive a W-2G, you must still report your winnings from gambling. |

| Verify that the name and address that appear on your W-2G agree with the name and address shown on the TurboTax screen. If you moved during the past year, the addresses may differ. Change the address on your TurboTax screen to match the address information on the W-2G. Leave your current address information in this area if you did not receive a W-2G. |

| Enter all the amounts as reported on the W-2G, filling in the same numbered boxes that are filled in on the actual form. |

| If you did not receive a W-2G, you still need to report your gambling winnings. Fill in the amount you won in the Gross Winnings area of the TurboTax screen. The other areas on this screen can be left blank. |

| Where there are winnings, can losses be far behind? If nothing else, the cost of the winning ticket counts as a gambling loss – the amount you spent in order to gamble.
Enter the total of your gambling losses for the year, making sure you enter no more than the amount of your gambling winnings. If you lost more than you won, you do not get any deduction for the excess loss.
