| To make things even easier when building formulas, use a range. A range is simply a block of cells. When you use a range, it's referred to by it's anchor points, the upper-left cell of the range and the lower-right cell of the range. For example, you might want to add all the values in cells C5 through E7, so the cell range is C5..E7. Ranges always include two periods between the two anchor points. |

| Quattro Pro lets you name a range of cells and use the range name in the formula. To name a group of cells, first select the cells, then open the Insert menu and choose Name, Cells, or press Ctrl+F3 on the keyboard. This opens the Cell Names dialog box. |

| Type in a name for the range, such as Sales or INCOME. You can use up to 63 characters in a range name, upper and lowercase letters. |

| Click the Add button and the name is added to the list of range names. Click Close to exit the dialog box. |

| To insert a range name into a formula, click the Reference box drop-down arrow and select the name from the list, or just type in the range name yourself. |

| Reopen the Cell Names dialog box, select the name from the list, then click the Delete button and close the dialog box. |
