Step 1:  Type a Field Entry

Open a Report
Whether you're working in Form view or List view, the process for entering records in your database is the same. To start, type the entry for the first field of the first record.
Step 2:  Move to the Next Field

Open a Report
After you finish the typing, press Tab to move to the next field. In List view, you can also press the right arrow key to move to the next field, but this technique doesn't work in the Form view.
Step 3:  Finish the Field Entries

Open a Report
Continue making field entries and pressing Tab after each one.
Step 4:  Move to the Next Record

Open a Report
After you make the last field entry for the record and press Tab, the Database tool selects the first field in a new, blank record. In the List view, this means that the cell selector moves to the far left field in the next blank row. (If you press Enter to finish the record in List view, the cell selector moves down a row and doesn't move to the first field.) In Form view, the Database tool displays a new, blank record form, as in the illustration above.
Step 5:  Edit a Field Entry

Open a Report
If you make a mistake in a field entry, you can correct it at any time. In the List view, double-click on the cell for the entry to edit, edit the entry as needed, then press Enter to finish your changes. In the Form view, click on the field entry to edit, click in the white entry bar above the form to move the insertion point there, make your changes, and then press Enter.
