Step 1:  Go To It (Point Your Browser)

Open a Report
At any given moment thousands of people are online exchanging ideas on solutions to computer problems, including the one that just struck you. How do you find them? By using Deja.com's search engine. Connect to the Internet and point your browser to http://www.deja.com
  Step 2:  Digging In

Open a Report
On the Deja.com site enter keywords or short phrases in the Search box.
  Step 3:  Browsing Around

Open a Report
After Deja.com has searched through thousands of newsgroups where people meet to exchange ideas, it lists the conversations revolving around the topic in which you are interested. Go through them.
Step 4:  Careful! (Watch For Imposters)

Newsgroups have many well-intentioned people who know less than they think they do. Try a solution only if at least two people have tried and recommend it or if the person recommending it works for a tech company. How can you tell who is affiliated with a computer or software company? Look at the signature of the person making the recommendation. If the advisor has a professional affiliation, the signature reflects that fact.
  Step 5:  Taking the Initiative

Didn't find any messages relating to your problem? Post your question yourself, giving as much information as possible about the problem and about your system. Check back every two days or so for an answer.
