Step 1:  Open the File Dialog

Open a Report
Rather than scroll through many pages of text, you can use the Find command to search for the text you want to locate. To search for a word or phrase in your document, pull down the Edit menu and choose Find, or click the Find button (the one with a picture of binoculars) on the toolbar.
Step 2:  Enter the Search Text

Open a Report
In the Find window, enter the text you want to search for. Optionally, check Match whole word only to avoid searching for text embedded within a word, and Match case to search for the text in the exact uppercase/lowercase combinations you've typed in the Find box.
  Step 3:  Click Find Next

Open a Report
Click the Find Next button to search for the target text. WordPad highlights the first instance of the text in your document. Click Find Next again to search further. When you're ready to close the Find dialog box, click Cancel.
Step 4:  Replace All Instances of a Word

Open a Report
To replace all instances of a word or phrase, press Ctrl+Home to move to the top of the document, and then choose Replace from the Edit menu. In the Find what box of the Replace dialog, enter the text you want to replace. In the Replace with box, enter the replacement text. Check Match whole words only to avoid changing text embedded within words, and Match case to replace only the exact text you've entered into the Find what box, and then click the Replace All button.
Step 5:  Replace Certain Instances of Words

Open a Report
To replace instances of the target text one at a time, click the Find Next button to highlight the next instance of the text, and then click Replace if you're sure you want to carry out the replacement. Keep clicking Replace for each appropriate replacement.
