| If you prefer to design your own Web page without help from Word's Web Page Wizard, you can use Word's formatting tools to assign styles and create headings and body text for your page. You can easily add lists and graphics. When you're finished, save your page to post on the Web. |

| Display the File menu and select New. This opens the New dialog box. |

| From the Web Pages tab, double-click the Blank Web Page icon. |

| Word opens a very blank Web page in your program window. |

| To enter a heading for the Web page, click the Style drop-down list on the Formatting toolbar and choose a heading style, such as Heading 1. Heading styles range in size from large (Heading 1) to small (Heading 6). |

| Type the heading text. If you're creating a personal Web page, for example, you might type Welcome to Ralph's Page. If you're creating a company Web page, type the company name. |

| Continue selecting styles to use and typing your own text. When you're finished, be sure to save your work. |
