| Since you have just uploaded your simple web page to the Internet, it's time to load up your browser and verify the appearance. Point your browser to the web site name given by your host. |

| The web site host has a banner, which was certainly not included in the file we uploaded. But it is added to any page displayed on the Xoom site. It's still considered less intrusive than pop-up ad windows. This advertising is what Xoom gets in return for giving you free web space. |

| Once the files are uploaded and you're viewing them with your browser, you may spot mistakes that were made in laying out the page. The last line is not centered. We would normally fix this by opening the document index.htm on the local system, fixing it, then uploading the file again with the FTP package. |

| If you use Netscape, choose View / Page Info and you'll see a summary of the structure of the web site. You can see a long list of image files (these are the ads inserted by Xoom) followed by your single file, index.htm. Later when you're building and uploading larger web sites, this view will get even more complicated. Close your browser when you're finished. |
