  Step 1:  Opening Control Panel

Open a Report
Click on the Start menu. Choose Settings then "Control Panel" from the menu.
  Step 2:  System Properties Window

Open a Report
Double click the System control panel to open it. A shortcut to the system properties window is to right click the "My computer" icon on the Desktop and then choose "Properties" from the menu.
  Step 3:  Opening Performance Tab

Open a Report
Click the Performance tab to open it.
  Step 4:  Application Performance

Open a Report
Move the slider to change the performance boost for the foreground application.
  Step 5:  Saving Changes

Open a Report
Click the "OK" button to save the changes and quit the System properties window.
