  Step 1:  Opening Event Viewer

Open a Report
Click the Start menu. Choose Programs then "Administrative tools". Select "Event Viewer" from the menu.
  Step 2:  Opening Event Details

Open a Report
Double click an event to open it. Events that start with a red Stop sign are events containing error messages.
  Step 3:  Viewing an Event Detail

Open a Report
The event detail window contains date, time, source and type of the event as well as a description of the event. This information can be very useful for troubleshooting system problems.
  Step 4:  Closing Event Detail Window

Open a Report
The Next and Previous buttons are used to navigate through the events. Click the "Close" button to close the event detail window.
