| Within an existing document, click on the Edit Document button in the Action bar. This will place the document in the Edit mode. |

| Place, or click, your cursor within a Rich Text field. You must be within a Rich Text field in order to create, or edit, a table. |

| Click on the Create Table SmartIcon, or click on Create in the Menu bar, then choose Table. |

| Within the Create Table dialog box, enter the number of rows and the number of columns for your table. |
 |

| In the Table Type section, you can choose one of four table types. These include creating a basic table; a tabbed table; an animated table, and a programmed table. |

| Once you have made your choices, click OK (or press enter) to apply your options and return to the active document. |

| The newly-created table can be seen within the document with your cursor in the first cell of the first column and first row. |

| When your cursor is inside the table, additional SmartIcons appear offering your additional table options. These SmartIcons are only available when your cursor is inside the table. |
