| You can set up PhotoDraw so that objects you drag on a picture automatically align (snap to) to an invisible grid. This helps lend order to the items in a picture. You also can control the size of the grid as needed. To start displaying the grid settings, choose File, Picture Setup. The Picture Setup dialog box appears. |

| Then click the Options button on the Active Picture tab of the Picture Setup dialog box. (Hint: Use the Options button on the New Picture Defaults tab to change the default setting for pictures you subsequently create.) The Options dialog box opens. |

| Make the needed changes to the Horizontal Spacing and Vertical Spacing settings in the Options dialog box. Note that larger entries mean a larger grid, offering you less flexibility in positioning objects. Smaller entries mean a smaller grid, giving you more control over how objects ultimately align. Click OK to apply your new settings, then click OK again to close the Picture Setup dialog box. |

| After you establish the grid size, turn on the snap to grid feature. To do so, choose View, Snap to Grid to check that command. You won't see the grid onscreen. However, you can tell it's active by dragging an object very slowly; the object jumps from one grid interval to the next rather than traveling continuously. (Hint: To nudge the selected object, press an arrow key or the keyboard, or Shift plus an arrow for a larger nudge.) |

| You may decide that using the grid doesn't work for you, especially if you want 100 percent flexibility and control in placing objects. If so, you can turn off the snap to grid feature. Just choose View, Snap to Grid to uncheck or toggle off the command. |
