  Step 1:  Load Sysedit

Open a Report
From the Windows Start button, select Run, and then type "SYSEDIT" (without quotations). Click OK
  Step 2:  Opening the SYSTEM.INI

Open a Report
From the configuration files opened automatically by SYSEDIT, choose SYSTEM.INI.
  Step 3:  Checking the Driver

Open a Report
Look for a line in SYSTEM.INI that reads as follows: Display.drv=PnpDrvr.drv. If you find this line exactly as above, you're running a video driver written for Windows 95/98. If you need to update the driver, read our tutorial, "Updating Your Video Driver." If the line beginning "Display.drv" ends with anything else besides "PnpDrvr.drv", you're not using a video driver written for Windows 95/98. This may account for your difficulties.
Step 4:  Obtain Windows 95/98 Driver

Contact the video adapter manufacturer or visit the manufacturer's web site to obtain a true Windows 95/98 driver for your video adapter, and then install it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
