 | | Check to be sure that all connections between the monitor and PC and monitor and power, including the new extension, are firmly plugged in. | | | |

 | | If you just installed an extension to your video cable so that you had more room to move the monitor, shutdown your PC, disconnect power, and temporarily remove the cable extension. Leave the monitor as it was before adding the extension. | | | |

 | | Reconnect power, turn the PC and monitor back on, and let the PC boot. | | | |
 | | Shutdown the PC again, disconnect power, unplug the monitor and reinstall the cable extension. Reconnect the power, turn the PC on, let it boot, and reevaluate the display. If the distortion or flickering resolved in Steps 2-3 and returns here, you should remove the cable extension again (after shutdown), and leave it off. If the distortion or flickering continues throughout all steps, you may want to contact the monitor's manufacturer or a licensed technician to have your monitor evaluated for repair. | |
