  Step 1:  Display Page with Footnote

Open a Report
When a footnote is inserted in a table, a footnote number is placed in the table cell and the actual footnote is placed at the bottom of that table. Go to a page in your document that contains a table footnote.
  Step 2:  Click in Footnote Text

Open a Report
At the bottom of the table, click in the text for one of your footnotes.
  Step 3:  Open the Paragraph Designer

Open a Report
On the Format menu, click Paragraphs, and then click the Designer option. Or, press CTRL+M.
  Step 4:  Select the Tab to Edit

Open a Report
In the Paragraph Designer window, click the tab for the feature you want to edit. For example, if you don't want hyphens to be used in your table footnote text, click the Advanced tab.
  Step 5:  Make Your Changes

Open a Report
Change the settings that you want to edit. For example, if you don't want hyphens to be used in your table footnote text, clear the Hyphenate checkbox.
  Step 6:  Apply Your Changes

Open a Report
To apply to the current table footnote only, click the Apply button. To update all table footnotes in your document and use this format for future table footnotes, click the Update All button.
