Step 1:  What Is Premiere's Timeline?

The timeline represents the length of your project. The blue line across the tape represents the actual working area of your project.
Step 2:  Dragging to the Timeline

Open a Report
Move clips and multimedia to the timeline from the project bin, arranging them from left to right as you want them to appear.
  Step 3:  What Are Tracks?

The timeline is cut horizontally into several tracks, thereby allowing you to place media one on top of the other. The tracks are labeled video and audio. There is a transition layer that can be utilized as well. There is also a transition layer in the tracks that is used primarily for title screens and other similar media.
Step 4:  Layer in Your Score

The audio tracks are there to allow you to layer in your score, sound effects and dialogue. For editing your score, I would suggest you use an outside editor, as you can achieve greater effects with a third party program.
