| Unless you're having problems, you can generally leave the Settings Tab alone. However, it helps to know what everything means. Full duplex refers to the sound card setting and means that both parties can talk at once. It's opposite is half duplex, and that means that one party must wait until the other party has finished before he/she can transmit. |

| The VOX option is normally grayed out if you have Full Duplex checked. However, if you have to use Half Duplex mode, the VOX option will become available. Turning VOX on means the microphone will automatically switch between Talk, Scan and Listen modes, based on your conversation. With VOX off, you'll have to switch between these modes manually. |

| You can suppress the silent parts of your Net2Phone conversations by selecting the Suppress Silence option on the Settings tab. |

| The next two settings determine the flow of data transmission. Voice Activity Detection monitors your conversation to figure out when to send voice data. The Automatic Frame Rate figures out how to send the data. |
