  Step 1:  Open Desktop Application

With a single voice command you can control any icon, shortcut or program on the desktop or Start menu. To open icons on the desktop simply say "open", "start", or "launch" followed by the exact name of the icon.
  Step 2:  Open Programs in Start Menu

Open a Report
To open programs in the Start menu simply say what you see. To open the Start menu say "Windows". Next say "open", "start", or "launch" before the program name. For example, "Open Microsoft Access" immediately opens the application. If you already know the name of the program you wish to open simply say "open" and the program name.
  Step 3:  Start Shortcuts

To start shortcuts say "open", "start", or "launch" followed by the exact name of the shortcut For example, "open Budget", or "open shortcut to my Web site".
  Step 4:  Close Programs

Open a Report
Closing a program is similar to opening one. Say "close" followed by the program name. Saying "close Microsoft Access" immediately closes the program.
