Normally, you'd enter a price that's about 20% less than the lowest published fare, which you can find by using Expedia.com's flight search capability. Expedia.com quickly notifies you if it finds a match and if it didn't, it tells you the lowest available fare for that destination and date.   Step 3:  Track Fares If you routinely fly the same route, you may be interested in keeping up-to-date on the lowest fares for it. Using the Fare Tracker service, you can specify up to three city combinations and receive regular e-mails informing you of the best fares for this route. You can also view this information on your My Travel Highlights page.   Step 4:  Save on Hotels If you're looking for a hotel room in a major US city, you can use the Hotel Price Matcher service to find the lowest possible rate. Enter the city, dates, and price you wish to pay and Expedia.com notifies you if it finds a match. There are often special rebate rewards for using this service, but remember that unlike traditional hotel reservations you can't change, cancel, or get a refund on reservations you make through Hotel Price Matcher.   Step 5:  Get a Deal Expedia.com devotes a special section of its site for travel deals and bargains. On the Deals page, you can learn about special offers both through Expedia.com and other companies, including discounts of airfares, hotels, tours, and cruises as well as special frequent flyer and mileage program bargains.
