| Leave your PC and monitor turned on when you'll be away from it for enough time to allow the system to go into standby/suspend or turn off mode. Then attempt to bring the system back up by moving your mouse or touching a key on your keyboard. Does the monitor come back? |

| The next few steps take you through what to do when you want to restart your computer without a monitor to help guide you and without having to crash out of your current session. Look closely at the keyboard as you work. |

| Press the Control and Escape keys simultaneously on your keyboard to bring up the Windows Start menu. You can't see it, but Windows knows it's there. Press "u" to begin shutdown and "s" to continue shutdown. Finally, press the Enter key to restart the PC. |

| When your system restarts, you should have your monitor/display again visible to you. Check the documentation that came with your monitor to see if the power issue is addressed there. |
