| Evaluate when the snow appears, how long it remains, and how severe it is. Momentary occurrences of "snow" are not unusual during a change in video mode, or moving back and forth between Windows and a graphics-intensive game or application. |

| Determine the make and model of both your video card and your monitor. This may appear in your PC documentation if you bought the PC as a unit, or in separate documentation received when you bought the video card and/or the monitor. |

| Also check the information available for the card by looking up entries for the display adapter and monitor in Device Manager (Control Panel, double-click the System icon, choose the Device Manager tab). |

| Contact the manufacturer of your video card and/or your monitor (or PC manufacturer, if you bought it as part of a package) to determine if there is a known incompatibility using your model video card with your model of monitor. This does happen, and can account for snow that remains after cables are tightened, the card is reseated, and the drivers are updated. |
