  Step 1:  What are Tag Descriptions?

META Tag descriptions summarize what can be found on a particular Web page. Not all search engines acknowledge META Tags, but those that do allow for greater control over your placement in search engines. On most search engines, this will be the text found in search engine results under the title.
  Step 2:  Review Web Pages

Open a Report
Examine your Web page and write a sentence or two about what a visitor will find there.
  Step 3:  Think Like the Searcher

Open a Report
When preparing the keywords for the META description, think like searcher would to locate certain sites. Try to use this wording in your description.
  Step 4:  View HTML

Open a Report
As you did with the title, open your Web page in WordPad to view the HTML.
  Step 5:  Insert META Tag Descriptions

Open a Report
Insert the information in the quotes after "content=". Keep the total number of characters under 150.
