  Step 1:  Make it Resourceful

Open a Report
Not everyone will buy a product or service from your site. What can you do to tempt customers, as well as visitors, to return to the site? Think of the Web sites in your Favorites Folder. What made them worthy of a bookmark? Cool graphics? Expert use of flash? Excellent resource for information? Free offers?
Step 2:  Make Site Easy to Navigate

Open a Report
Unless the site hosts online games, online trading, or hands out cash to each visitor, users will not hang out there all day. Visitors want to look at the main Web page and see links to every page they want to view. Company data, contact information, online catalog, prices, ordering information, and resources should all be clearly labeled with links or icons from the main page. If these items aren't readily available, they'll search for a while, but probably get frustrated and leave.
  Step 3:  Offer Freebies

Offer monthly drawings, give aways and free advice.
  Step 4:  Lose Coding Errors…Pronto!

Is anything more annoying than being trapped on a site that is bombarding you with "Java script" error messages? Want a guarantee that a visitor will never be back…. that's it. Sites such as WebKing http://www.thewebking.com/products/ webking/wkdemoscan.htm offer free coding checkers that will alert you to any errors.
