Installation After Downloading Service Pack 2

When you finish downloading SP2, the Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard displays. Use the following steps during the installation:

  1. Make sure that you have already made a copy of your personal files.

  2. In the Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard dialog box, click Next.

  3. While updating, Windows checks your computer to verify that it complies with the SP2 requirements. It then archives the service pack files in case you want to remove SP2 later. Finally, it installs the service pack. This can take a few minutes Please wait.

  4. After the installation is complete, restart your computer.

Note: Make sure that your security essentials are all marked ON. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. In Control Panel, click Security Center. Now you are ready to start using Windows XP SP2 with Advanced Security Technologies.
