When I set shows to record, why does my set top box change to the wrong channel?

This can happen if you select to record a series on all channels that the series airs on without first customizing your guide lineup to only display the channels you actually receive. Basically, the set top box is attempting to record the series on a channel you do not receive. Different symptoms can appear, since different set top boxes behave differently when tuning to a channel you do not subscribe to. Some tune to that channel and display an error, some tune to the nearest valid channel you actually subscribe to, while others do not change the channel at all. To correct this difficulty, customize your channel lineup and remove channels that you do not subscribe to from the guide (Settings, TV, Guide, Edit Channels).
