How do I manage the disk space for recording?

Use the following steps manage the disk space for recordings.

  1. Press the Windows Media Center Start button on the Media Center remote control.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select TV.

  4. Select Recorder.

  5. Select Recorder Storage.

  6. Modify the desired settings, and then in the left pane select Save.

Record on drive If you have more than one drive, you can select which drive the recorded program should be stored on. It is advisable that the largest installed hard drive is selected.

Maximum TV limit Set the preferred maximum amount of disk space to use for recorded TV. The Scheduler checks if the program will be able to save completely prior to recording.

Recording quality Set the preferred quality for recordings. Select among Fair, Good, Better, or Best. Media Center's recording rates for each of the quality settings are listed in the following table.
